Unpopular Opinion Post #filters

Ive been seeing a lot of posts and reels lately, passionately hating on filters. And I normally don’t like to be super political on my fashion account but I just wanted to say this.

Can we all just stop being so judgy and cruel??

With all the great messaging out there about #bodypositivity and #womensupportingwomen can we not just let everyone express themselves in whatever way that they feel comfortable.

Some of the messaging is about young girls and showing them this is not real. This I 100% get. however do you know who taught me how to use a filter and all the cool ones that are on socials? My then 7 year old niece… I agree when I was a kid the messaging out there was awful and I had no idea about filtering. However times have changed, every beautiful child; girl or boy I have had the pleasure of having in my orbit knows allll about filters and how they function and what posts are using them. They are intelligent and technically savvy little people who understand way more than my 30 something year old ass.

Don’t get me wrong Im loving all the positive #nofilter posts. Im not against sharing these at all.

All I wanted to do is share my opinion on this: If you want to use a filter, use it. If you don’t believe in filters don’t use them. If you like makeup, amazing, if you don’t, don’t wear it. I think we are all beautiful no matter whether we chose to filter or not.

How bout we all just be kind to each other and accept each others beautiful posts on these great platforms for exactly what they are. An expression of fun, individuality, creativity and self, whatever that looks like. Filter or no filter.
